Zuper Launches AI Smart Glasses for Field Workers
3 min read
Seattle-based software company Zuper has stepped into the growing smart glasses market with the launch of Zuper Glass, an AI-powered wearable designed to help skilled tradespeople work more efficiently and safely in the field.
The new device is aimed at professionals such as roofers, electricians, plumbers, and other field service workers who often need to perform tasks while keeping both hands free. By combining artificial intelligence with voice controls, Zuper Glass allows workers to capture photos, record videos, complete inspections, and communicate with their teams without interrupting their work.
The launch marks an expansion of Zuper’s business beyond field service software, bringing wearable AI technology directly into everyday job sites where efficiency and safety are critical.
AI Features Built for Hands-Free Work
One of the key advantages of Zuper Glass is its voice-activated functionality. Workers can document job progress, perform inspections, and share information without manually handling a smartphone or tablet. This hands-free approach is especially valuable for professionals working at heights, in confined spaces, or while operating tools.
The smart glasses also integrate seamlessly with Zuper’s existing mobile application. Data captured through the wearable is synchronized instantly with the company’s software platform, ensuring office staff and field teams stay connected in real time.
Zuper’s platform already supports a wide range of business operations, including work order management, technician dispatching, scheduling, proposal generation, customer communication, payment processing, and other field service workflows. By connecting the wearable to its software ecosystem, the company aims to simplify daily operations while improving collaboration between field workers and back-office teams.
Smart Glasses Continue to Gain Momentum
Wearable technology has attracted growing attention from major technology companies, with smart glasses becoming an increasingly important area of innovation.
Last month, Amazon introduced augmented reality glasses for its delivery drivers, describing the device as a way to improve driver safety while enhancing the overall delivery experience.
Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly highlighted AI-powered smart glasses as what he believes is “the ideal form factor for personal super intelligence,” reflecting the industry’s growing confidence in wearable AI devices.
Zuper’s latest product enters this expanding market with a focus on enterprise users rather than consumers, targeting businesses that rely on mobile workforces.
CEO Highlights Safety and Productivity
Zuper CEO Anand Subbaraj, a former Microsoft executive, said the company developed the product by listening closely to the needs of frontline workers.
“Zuper Glass is a breakthrough in how field work gets done and how it will evolve in the future,” Subbaraj said in a news release. “It is inspired by the people who do this work every day — technicians, roofers, and field teams whose hands are full, whose focus matters, and whose safety comes first.”
Founded in 2020, Zuper has grown rapidly and now employs around 210 people across offices in Seattle and India. The company previously raised $32 million in a Series B funding round led by Seattle-area venture capital firm FUSE in December 2023.
With the launch of Zuper Glass, the company is expanding beyond software to offer AI-powered hardware that complements its field service platform. As businesses continue adopting intelligent wearables, Zuper is positioning itself to help skilled workers complete jobs more safely, efficiently, and with better real-time connectivity.
