Seattle AI Startup Ambassador Raises $7M to Expand Customer Feedback Platform
3 min read
Seattle-based software startup Ambassador has secured $7 million in new funding as it looks to accelerate growth and expand its AI-powered customer engagement platform.
The investment comes alongside the launch of HiroAI, a new artificial intelligence layer that helps businesses analyze customer feedback, identify engagement trends, and recommend actions aimed at improving customer retention and revenue growth.
With fresh capital in hand, Ambassador plans to strengthen its platform as companies increasingly look for smarter ways to understand customer behavior while managing leaner teams and tighter budgets.
Helping Businesses Turn Customer Feedback Into Action
Ambassador provides an all-in-one platform that enables marketing and revenue teams to manage several customer engagement activities from a single dashboard.
Its software supports customer referral programs, surveys, loyalty initiatives, email outreach, and other engagement campaigns without requiring businesses to rely on multiple disconnected tools.
The company currently serves more than 200 customers worldwide, including large enterprise organizations operating in telecommunications, financial technology, and B2B software industries.
By combining these functions into one platform, Ambassador aims to simplify customer relationship management while providing businesses with a more complete view of customer interactions.
HiroAI Brings Intelligent Insights to Marketing Teams
The company’s newest product, HiroAI, is designed to analyze customer engagement data collected across multiple systems and convert it into practical recommendations.
Rather than replacing marketing professionals, the AI layer acts as a decision-support assistant by highlighting trends, uncovering customer insights, and suggesting the next best actions to improve retention and generate additional revenue.
CEO Geoff McDonald said the company believes businesses increasingly prefer connected AI solutions over fragmented software tools as organizations continue operating with smaller teams.
“We’re actually building the most connected AI feedback network on the planet,” McDonald said.
In addition to enhancing its customer-facing products, Ambassador is also using artificial intelligence internally to automate tasks such as lead scoring and customer outreach, helping employees spend more time on higher-value work.
The company currently employs 22 people.
Experienced Leadership and Continued Growth
Ambassador has undergone significant changes over the past several years.
The company was acquired from Intrado in 2021, marking a new chapter under its current leadership.
McDonald previously co-founded and led Seattle startup Element Data, bringing years of experience building enterprise software businesses.
The latest funding round reflects strong support from experienced technology entrepreneurs and investors, particularly executives connected to Seattle messaging startup Zipwhip.
Former Zipwhip Leaders Back the Company
Among the investors participating in the financing is John Larson, Zipwhip co-founder and now Ambassador’s co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer.
Larson described the investment as the largest personal commitment he has made as an investor.
“This is my personal biggest bet I’ve made as an investor,” he said.
The funding round also attracted support from Archibald Cox Jr., former chairman of Barclays; VentureUs; former Zipwhip executive James Lapic; and Seattle investors Cliff Monlux and Paul Stahura.
With the latest investment, Ambassador has now raised $11 million in total funding.
Positioning for the Next Phase of AI-Powered Marketing
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into customer relationship management, Ambassador is positioning itself as a platform that combines customer engagement, feedback analysis, and AI-driven recommendations within a single ecosystem.
Instead of fully automating marketing decisions, the company focuses on helping teams make faster, more informed choices using connected customer data.
With new funding, expanding enterprise adoption, and the rollout of HiroAI, Ambassador aims to strengthen its presence in the growing AI-powered marketing technology market while helping businesses better understand and retain their customers
