Meta Brings Muse AI Agent to Small Businesses

Meta is expanding its AI ambitions beyond individual users and into the small-business world with a broader rollout of its Muse AI agent.
The company announced Tuesday that Muse for Small Business is now available to small businesses, along with integrations for popular tools including Shopify, Dropbox and Slack. Meta says Muse is designed to help business owners handle everyday work while also finding potential new customers.
Rather than operating as a standalone chatbot, Muse is designed to work with the software businesses already rely on for sales, operations and marketing. Meta’s strategy is to give the AI agent access to a wider view of how a company operates, allowing it to provide assistance based on more business context.
Muse can connect with an Instagram professional account, Facebook Pages and Meta advertising accounts. According to Meta, the agent can understand what a company sells, recognize the brand’s communication style and identify the questions customers ask most often.
The company is also adding a wide range of third-party integrations. These include Asana, Box, Canva, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Stripe and Zoom, alongside Shopify, Dropbox and Slack.
The idea is to make Muse useful inside the existing workflow of a small business rather than requiring owners to move their work into a separate AI platform.
Meta says Muse for Small Business is available for free, although the free version comes with usage limits. Businesses that need additional usage can choose a paid subscription plan.
“Small businesses have been growing on our apps for nearly two decades,” Meta said in a blog post. The company added that business owners told it they were “short on hours, not ideas,” which led Meta to build Muse for Small Business around the tools they already use.
Meta Pushes Deeper Into Business AI
The Muse expansion is part of Meta’s larger push to bring its AI technology into the enterprise market.
Just one day before announcing Muse for Small Business, Meta introduced the Meta Enterprise Platform, an initiative focused on expanding its AI products for businesses and corporate customers. The move comes as Meta continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence and looks for ways to generate returns from that spending.
Meta has appointed Chirantan “CJ” Desai, the CEO of database software company MongoDB, to lead the new enterprise initiative.
The company says the platform will bring its broader technology stack to businesses and developers. That includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, among other products.
The expansion also builds on the early momentum of Muse itself. The AI agent launched earlier this month and quickly reached the top of the app charts in the U.S. and Canada, ranking ahead of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
With Muse now moving into small businesses, Meta is positioning its AI agent as more than a consumer-focused assistant. By connecting it with the tools companies already use, Meta is aiming to make AI part of everyday business operations while competing with major AI players such as OpenAI and Google.
